Great weekend of wrestling and hanging out with some good friends!
Well, came home to a nice suprise today. Mom rented me Summerslam tonight! Wish I could have gone and watched it with Marco, Roy, Josh, & Jesse but I gutta drive tomorrow @ 9. Really pumped for Summerslam!
Constituents of The IWE Fan Nation such as myself and my cohorts in The Smart Foundation have found ourselves growing increasingly frustrated by the IWE forum over the past couple of years. Nearly 99% or more of our frustrations are caused by a 6’6” lumbering oaf in his 50s who likes to call…
This guy is such a damn D-Bag
IWE & LPW present - The 1st Robbie Ellis Tribute Tournament - 8/12/12
We opened the show to the introduction of the Canvasman himself, Robbie Ellis, looking great as ever for his age. Then all the participants in the tournament came out for a group photo.
First Round Match 1 - Cameron Matthews vs. Jay Jaillet vs. Julian Starr. This was an amazing opener. So many great moves. Outside dives from Matthews. Starr hit a huge elbow drop. In the end, it was Cameron Matthews coming out on top with a springboard moonsault.
Rating - 4.5/5
First Round Match 2 - Eddie Edwards defeated Conner Murphy & Maxwell Chicago via a one leg Boston Crab on Maxwell Chicago.
Rating - 4/5
First Round Match 3 - Mark Moment defeated Chris Hamrick & Scotty Vegas via a one leg boston crab on Hamrick who caught his leg in the ropes going for a Split Leg Moonsault. Talked to him after the show, and he was alright, so thats good.
Rating - 3.5/5
First Round Match 4 - Matt Taven defeated Vinny Marseglia & Scott Reed. This match was a high flying, lucha libre styled match. I loved it. It could have been a little longer though, I’d say it was only about 6 minutes.
Rating - 4/5
Semi-Final Match 1 - Eddie Edwards defeated Cameron Matthews with somewhat of an inverted one leg boston crab. Awesome match all together, these two can really pull out all the stops.
Rating - 4/5
Semi-Final Match 2 - Matt Taven defeated Mark Moment with a Springboard Enzugiri. Awesome match altogether. Hard shots, chops, and kicks were handed back and forth through the match.
Rating - 4/5
Tag Team Match - Current IWE Champion, “Extreme Strongman” Gino Martino & “Jivin” Jimmy Capone defeated Sonny Roselli & Owen Brody. This match was just a fill in match to give Taven & Edwards a rest but it was a good, comical filler. Gino is the man so its always awesome to see him. After the match, Gino even did a little dance!
Rating - 3/5
Finals - Matt Taven defeated Eddie Edwards via a Springboard Enzugiri. This match was the match of the night. It was awesome, all the way around. A true wrestling match.
